Chapter 29: The Colour of Love
Following the birthdays of Adelaide, Noah, and Eden there was rather a lot of cake left lying around the house...
I know I know Eden, just eat it alright?
By now the family had saved up a good amount of money, so I was able to build them this lovely swimming pool in their backyard.
With Eden aged to a Young Adult, and a Hopeless Romantic, I invited over his friend Lindsay for a bit of you-know-what...
Immediately they headed to the bedroom where Eden put the moves on her.
But shock of shocks she rejected him! That cow...
The next day I planned to invite her over and try again, but by then she had a new boyfriend! What a ho.
Elsewhere in the house, Adelaide had something on her mind. As an Elder she knew her time on this earth was running out, and it made her think more about death- about her final resting place.
That night, with only the darkness for company, she headed to the old Mars Legacy home where she had grown up.
There in the garden remained the family graveyard, still containing the tombstones of all the previous generations.
Adelaide placed them all in her inventory and headed for home, but there was to be one more stop on the way...
When Dahlia had died her gravestone had been placed in the mausoleum like all the other citizens of the town. Adelaide wondered whether she should just leave her there, after all she had never really liked her mother, but in the end she relented. She collected the tombstone of Dahlia Mars, and also picked up the grave of her father Trent Wilson. Ultimately he was part of the family bloodline.
By the following morning all the tombstones were placed in the new Mars family graveyard back at the house.
It didn't take long for the ghosts to appear you know, but it was always the same people- Riley, Scarlett, Mayana, and Harlow. I wanna see some ghost men goshdarnit!
But as always the ghosts were more trouble than they were worth. Every time they entered the house they would start cooking, playing with the tv, breaking things. In the end I had to resort to locking them in the graveyard.
Later that day I sent Eden to the park to look for a wife. Now I'm not one for the traditional legacy style- rush out, meet a partner, and start firing out kids immediately. I'm a fan of the storyline as you know, but in this case it seemed appropriate to find Eden someone to love.
At first it was slim-pickings in the park, with a majority of elderly women wandering around. But then Eden spotted someone rather striking...
This is Melody, and I believe she's descended from one of the many pre-made Sims I integrated into the town a while ago.
She's maybe a bit unconventional in the looks department, but she has a certain charm to her : )
Besides, I'm very enthused about the possibility of introducing a nice purple skintone to the family : D
But anyway, it doesn't matter about me- it's important that Eden likes her, and he really does. Okay you can't exactly tell because he never smiles, but he was rolling wants to be her friend and stuffs, so I take that as a good sign.
The following day Eden invited Melody over for their first date ^_^
He made her a nice dinner...
...they danced the night away...
...and the evening ended with their very first kiss.
A few days later it was time for round two, and operation Charm Her Knickers Off.
Sadly though this mission was slightly hindered by Noah and Adelaide. Seriously, whenever Eden invites someone over to the house they descend on the person like a pack of friendless vultures. It's difficult to get a moment alone : /
But eventually success was achieved, and Eden and Melody were able to spend the night together.
As Eden got to know Melody he discovered that she was a Hopeless Romantic too, so naturally their relationship progressed quite quickly after that.
Overcome with a whirlwind of emotion, Eden proposed to Melody.
Naturally she accepted (hell, I would).
When the weekend arrived the couple threw a wedding party and invited over a few close friends. One of the guests was Eden's friend slash first-love-attempt Lindsay, who was now married and knocked up : o
As the cool night set in, the guests and proud parents gathered to watch Eden and Melody tie the knot.
Welcome to the family Melody Mars.
Upon her move into the house Melody headed for the nearest piece of technology she could find. As a Computer Whiz she was able to spend her nights hacking to add some cash to the family funds.
As time went on Eden and Melody remained as into each other as ever they were, and this resulted in their first pregnancy... come on purple skinned child!
Meanwhile, Noah and Adelaide continued to keep up their strong relationship, and I marvelled at just how well they had aged... If it wasn't for the grey hair you probably wouldn't even be able to tell that they're elders.
As her pregnancy progressed, Melody made an effort to bond with her in-laws, and Adelaide was ecstatic to hear that she was soon to be a grandmother.
Eden tended to his pregnant wife's every need as her bump grew.
And sometimes they had mutual needs to satisfy... ; )
All in all it was a pleasant enough pregnancy, and before long it was labor time.
As Melody huffed and puffed her in-laws appeared to cheer her on, but sadly Eden was absent as he was very tired after a hard days work.
Soon enough the sparkles lit up the room, and my apparent stupidity set in as I forgot to take a picture of the new baby. But maybe I was a little distracted by what happened next...
You see, the following day Melody began to celebrate her birthday which I was not expecting. It bothered me slightly that she was older than Eden but I figured it wouldn't be that bad.
I was wrong.
Missy you've got some explaining to do- coming in here with your fake ID making me think you were young, when really you were just days away from collecting your pension. You've been living a lie!
Hmph.
Oh well, at least we managed to squeeze one kid in there, and to be fair Eden couldn't have cared less how old his wife was. Love is blind and all that jazz.
Speaking of love, it seems Noah and Adelaide only have eyes for each other : ) They're so cute- whenever I leave them alone they're always embracing and things, bless 'em.
Anyways, nice picture of Eden dancing here. And why? Well, he's celebrating the birthday of his first born. Now I know you're just dying to know about the kid- boy or girl, purple or white? Let's see shall we...
Eden, thrusting in the direction of the party...
So, do you like her? : D
This is Indiana, and she's a Virtuoso and Evil. Gawd I remember the fun we had with the last Evil Sim- this is going to be great : D
She definitely follows after her mother, but with her grandad's hair colour.
So of course with Indie as a toddler all the usual life lessons began.
So cute...
Noah and Adelaide were always around so they spent lots of time with Indie, but perhaps a bit too much...
In truth they just would not leave this kid alone. Whenever she was by herself, especially when she was trying to sleep, the friendless vultures would begin to circle. Dun dun dur!
Leave her alone you weirdos!
Ahem, when Indie did get a minute to herself she often spent it in the garden.
Aww, she looks so sweet but I just know that inside there beats the heart of a latent monster...
Perhaps one of the symptoms of her dormant craziness was the fact that Indiana kept crying. All the time. There was never anything wrong with her, the kid just wouldn't shut up.
But as soon as Eden came home Indie changed into sweetness and light again.
Definitely Daddy's little princess.
Oh, I should also mention that whilst all the marriage and birth and things were going on, Eden continued to progress in the military career. He maximised the athletic skill and reached level 5 in the profession.
Before long it was time for Indie's birthday once again, so the family gathered to celebrate the occasion.
Melody helped her blow out the candles.
Sparkly dance...
Pudding-faced child. Hmph, I thought we had this curse beat with Adelaide and Eden... Ho well.
So Indiana is now a child with her whole life ahead of her, but how will she and Eden cope with the fact that Melody, Noah, and Adelaide's days are getting shorter all the time? Find out in the next chapter of The Mars Family Legacy, coming soon.
You can find the original on the story board here- feel free to rec that if you've enjoyed this : )
