Chapter 21: I Do!
In the last episode we saw Dahlia begin to work on fufilling her lifetime wish of being a Gold Digger. She'd met a rich man named Miles Wilson and, as you can see, she wasted no time in getting her claws into him.
Camden on the other hand had much more noble interests in mind. He went to visit his son Marquis daily and enjoyed spending time with the little fella.
On one such occasion he even taught him to walk.
Altogether now- awwwww.
All these visits meant that Camden was able to spend a great amount of time with his girlfriend January, which they both enjoyed ; )
In addition, Camden continued to pursue his job in the Criminal career, and he had now reached level 6 and chosen the Thief branch.
Mayana and Christian mainly stayed at home, with Mayana occasionally popping out to collect the money from the Bistro that she owned. Christian continued to paint as always, providing valuable income for the family.
The next day Dahlia headed to Miles' house once again.
Whilst she was there Dahlia asked him to be her boyfriend, and Miles said yes.
This was actually Dahlia's first official boyfriend, but it felt no different to the men she had used in the past.
Dahlia's fluid smile masked a multitude of sins; her intentions always hidden like a deadly shark beneath the placid surface. The sharp teeth of her desires remained hidden, and you just never knew when she was going to bite...
In a break from the pursuit of her inclinations, Dahlia went to visit her twin sister Jenna.
It seemed Jenna was living with her husband Jason and, as you can see, their relationship must still be reasonably happy as Jenna was now heavily pregnant.
The previously troubled relationship between the sisters seemed to ease slightly as Dahlia took an interest in Jenna's growing bump.
Maybe Dahlia isn't all darkness and lust? Sometimes she has a heart.
However, as nice as she can be Dahlia is still Mean Spirited, and she couldn't resist making a dig at Jenna's husband. She was asked to leave not long after this.
Dahlia headed for home and I later found her digging through the rubbish outside.
Insane Sims are so jokes...
(Oh, little side note- I checked the family tree a little later and Jenna gave birth to twin ghost babies : D They were both girls, and were named Alexa and Lea).
The following morning Camden invited January over to the house. He seemed less smiley than usual, and maybe a little nervous...
Any guesses as to why?
: D
Camden finally felt the time was right to pop the question to his girlfriend of many, many years.
And January had no reservations in saying yes, hurrah!
They're so cute it's ridonkulous.
With this engagement, January and Marquis moved into the house with Camden at long last.
As January's lifetime want involved being successful in the Business career she got a job and started to suck up to her boss, as you do.
Camden still worked nights so he was able to spend the daytime teaching his son any life skills he still had yet to learn.
And of course, being the Family Oriented Sims that they are, Mayana and Christian were always around to help out with the care of their grandson.
This proved very handy as it gave Camden and January ample time to... well, you know.
Only a day later it was time for Marquis to grow up into a child, so his father brought him to the birthday cake.
Customary sparkly dance : p
It was also Camden's birthday on the same day so the family got out their party horns and, erm, whatever those swingyroundthings are to cheer him on too.
No sparkly dance this time, just a terrified look.
Come on Camden, being an Adult wont be that bad.
And here are the birthday boys.
I love how Marquis has that very same permanently peed off look that Camden had at his age.
Oh, and sadly Marquis still isn't Evil! He gained the Ambitious trait.
When the weekend rolled around the backyard was turned into a wedding venue of sorts for Camden and January's big day.
The happy couple exchanged rings in front of a select group of family and friends.
And soon they were husband and wife : )
However, the focus at this point wasn't all on the newlyweds...
Scene Stealer.
Yup, Dahlia decided she just couldn't wait to advance with her cunning plan, and so proposed to Miles right there and then. He said yes as you can imagine.
Following their wedding I decided it was time for Camden and his little family to move out.
It was kind of sad to see them go, but fear not dear readers!
Camden and January returned for a party the next day.
A wedding party!
Dahlia does indeed move fast.
However, just like the last wedding, there was to be another event which would steal the spotlight from the bride and groom...
: (
Yes, sadly Christian's time in this world was up, and Dahlia could only watch on in horror as her father turned into a ghost once again.
And of course poor Mayana! She was so happy before with her little 'Mother of the Bride' moodlet and then this happened.
As the sun began to set the Reaper arrived to take Christian away.
And it wasn't until nighttime that it was all over and Dahlia and Miles could finally finish their vows, though with considerably less guests to witness than before.
As Miles was a Family Oriented guy, when he moved into the house he brought his family with him (and this also meant more money coming in- great for Dahlia).
This is his son Trent, Trent's wife Hannah, and their daughter Lucy.
I got Trent and Hannah jobs in the Political and Culinary careers respectively and then just left them to their own devices really.
Meanwhile, Dahlia and Miles headed to the bedroom to consumate their marriage.
In the morning Dahlia headed off to work in her zippy new sports car that she had been able to afford following the marriage.
As a Workaholic Dahlia had progressed nicely in the Business career and was now at level 8.
Miles sat down at the computer and got to work writing some novels.
And Mayana... well, she just walked round the house like an empty shell and tried to deal with the devastation at losing her much-loved husband : (
Dahlia was also finding it hard to cope with losing Christian. Sure, she's a tough girl but she does have feelings sometimes.
And besides, she'd be crazy to turn down a consoling hug from the delectable Trent...
Once again, Dahlia felt the flush- hot blood rushing through her veins as she contemplated doing something wicked...
Sure, she could put her actions down to grief, but you have to remember that everything in life is a choice, and Dahlia had only herself to blame.
And so, the following day after work, Dahlia invited Trent to meet her for a chat...
They headed to the beach, conveniently just as the sun was beginning to set.
Trent and Dahlia stood by the shore, and for a moment she just looked at him. Trent's gaze spoke to her but it said nothing of morals; nothing of right and wrong. Principles didn't matter at a time like this.
There might have been a flash- a glimmer of reality that said stop, think about what you're doing, but Dahlia couldn't see its light.
Dahlia saw her life shaped by the choices she had made, and she didn't regret a single one.
Dahlia dines on destruction.
Trent and Dahlia stayed on the beach long into the night, not even wanting to think about home.
Instead, Dahlia thought about the men she had met in the past, each one nothing more than an empty embrace; nothing more than a useless body of flesh she could press herself against for a while.
Why did this one feel so different?
Sadly, whilst Trent and Dahlia were finding each other on the beach, Mayana died : (
They made it home just in time to see the Grim Reaper take her away.
At least now Mayana and Christian can be together. Rest in Peace.
Over the coming days, Trent and Dahlia ached to spend time together. It wasn't easy though as there was almost always someone at home, but luckily Camden let them meet up at his place.
And meet up they did ; )
This pattern went on for a while- the lovers heading to Camden's any time they had an itch that just couldn't be scratched.
As they were both Workaholics they were able to tell the others that they were just working late, that was all, and no one suspected a thing.
But things looked set to change one day when Trent made a request to Dahlia.
He was a Family Oriented Sim, and he had something on his mind...
Dahlia was so besotted with Trent that, when he told her what he desired, she just smiled lovingly at him and said yes without even thinking of the potential consequences.
And so the next day, Dahlia spun into her maternity clothes (and a much more relaxed hairdo).
So now Dahlia is pregnant. How on earth will she and Trent manage to keep this a secret? Will they have a boy or a girl?
Find out in the next chapter of The Mars Family Legacy, coming soon.
You can find the original on the story board here- feel free to rec that if you've enjoyed this : )
