Chapter 20: The Devil in Dahlia

Things in the Mars household have become a little tricky... Yes, Camden and Dahlia were getting on as always, but other relationships in the family were a little strained at best.



You see Dahlia, being the Mean Spirited little terror that she is, often rolled wants to be mean to other people. And I, being the humble Sim overlord that I am, was only too happy to grant these wishes... Mwah ha ha!



As well as teasing her sister on a fairy regular basis, Dahlia also continued to get intimate with Jenna's boyfriend Jason.

Ah, if love is blind then lust is just careless.



In truth Dahlia was seeing more of Jason than his own girlfriend was, and she even invited herself to stay over at his house one night.



Of course she then went and insulted all the other members of the house and was 'politely' asked to leave...



Elsewhere, Camden remained enthused about his job in the criminal career and made sure to work out regularly.
He did actually get arrested one time, but other than that things were running smoothly and he was able to reach level 5 in the field.



Camden's love-life also continued to blossom, with his girlfriend January visiting the house often.

Frisky little minxes...



For the most part, Christian and Mayana knew very little about what their kids were up to. They just kept mainly to themselves and gave their children the freedom to run or ruin their own lives.



Once again it was birthday time in the house, with Xanthi aging up into a Young Adult.



He gained the Natural Cook trait, got himself a job, and then moved out.



Three days later it was the twins birthdays too. They didn't have a party, instead just choosing to celebrate the occasion with their close family and friends.



Dahlia was first to be shown the sparkles.



Wows, gorgeous as ever.
Dahlia had gained the Workaholic trait so I gave her a nice smart-casual makeover.



Next up it was Jenna's turn to blow out the candles.



She gained the Hopeless Romantic trait.
Uh-oh, poor Jenna would be devastated if she knew the true state of her relationship...



And here's the angelic beauty in CAS mode.



So over the past generations the Mars family had built up quite a large amount of money. Gradually I'd grown tired of the old house and therefore decided to give it a radical makeover.
We went from this...



...To this.
I must say my houses always look crap from the outside but are decorated much better on the inside. Clearly I suck at landscaping...
I wont go into too many details about the build at this point, but I will say one thing...



Home Cinema!
Possibly the coolest thing I've ever built, and one of the reasons why I ran out of money towards the end of the decoration, eep.



So the new house was a hit with all the family, including the ghost of Grim who hadn't appeared in a long time.
Clearly he's a very modern man ; )



The next morning Dahlia set out for her first day of work in the Business career.
Hopefully she wont be too mean to her co-workers...



An hour later and Jenna eagerly ran off to begin her new job too, this one being in the Law Enforcement career.



And Camden? He was working nights at the moment, so he stayed home and enjoyed the luxury of having his own private gym.



When Jenna returned from work the first thing she did was ring up Jason to invite him over. She hadn't seen her boyfriend since she had grown up and was eager to do so, but Jason wasn't answering his phone. And the reason...?



He was with Dahlia.



As Dahlia fell into bed with her sister's boyfriend she barely felt a thing.
Not in a physical way, no the sensations were all there. Her emotions were the vacant aspect, her calm mind blocking all thoughts of her sister- of guilt.



And in the morning Dahlia awoke feeling refreshed, tranquil, and surrounded by men with breasts...

(It's a bad CC issue, don't all rush to your Action Men and Barbie dolls to check that the world's still the same).



Ahem, back at the house Camden had invited January over to visit, and this time he noticed that she was looking more... rotund than usual.



She hadn't been eating all the pies; January was pregnant and Camden was pleasantly surprised that he was soon to be a father.



Later that night Jenna was finally able to invite Jason over to the house. You'd think that maybe the boy would be a tad nervous at seeing his girlfriend after what he'd done but nope- not a flicker.



He didn't even flinch when she did this...



That little skeeze even said yes to Jenna's marriage proposal.
Wow, if only she knew.



Now that they were engaged, Jenna finally felt ready to sleep with the man she loved.
IF ONLY SHE KNEW!



And that night, when Dahlia returned home, guess who was waiting in her bed for her? Honestly, this guy...



Anyways... Before long Camden received a message to let him know that he was now a daddy, so of course he hot-footed it over to January's house.



There he met his son for the first time. His name is Marquis and his traits are Brave and Easily Impressed.
I love his name but I'm quite disappointed that his parents' evilness wasn't passed on : (



After spending some time with his child, Camden made a beeline for his lover and swept her into his arms like the dashing young man that he is ; )



He's so full of charm he even had some schmooze left over for you readers... *nudge nudge wink wink*



Back at home Jenna was telling Dahlia about her engagement to Jason : o
As you can imagine she was both shocked and upset by the news. For the first time Dahlia felt some of that conscious ache that had been absent for so long. That emotion. That guilt.



Dahlia congratulated her sister as you would expect, but her smile was so forced it almost hurt her. Jenna may not be Dahlia's favourite person, but still, she deserved more than the joke of a relationship that she had been given. All the same, Dahlia didn't know whether she would be able to end things with Jason- whether she even wanted to.



But then, just a few hours later, Jenna span into her maternity clothes and made Dahlia's decision that much easier.



And so, with some regret set deep in her heart, Dahlia prepared to end her affair with Jason.



She called Jason over to the house and met him outside on the pavement, hoping that the semi-public meeting would prevent him from getting too angry. It didn't quite work that way though...



No, when Dahlia told Jason that they would have to end their clandestine arrangement he got extremely angry.
All at once Dahlia knew that she was doing the right thing, but at the same time she was gripped by a fear- fear for her sister who was set to marry this man.



She knew though that she would never be able to tell Jenna what she had done, not at the risk of distressing her entire family.
Instead Dahlia would have to live with this heavy secret, and hope that maybe Jason would treat her sister well.



And so the next day Dahlia woke up early, poured herself a stiff drink, and tried to make peace with what would happen that day.



The Wedding.



Jenna was a very traditional girl and so, when she discovered she was pregnant, she knew that she and Jason would have to get married right away.
Close family and friends were invited to watch Jenna put on an extremely suspect maternity wedding dress and say her vows.



First they exchanged rings.



And then they shared their first kiss as man and wife.

(Seriously though, what is up with that dress?)



Hmm, you'd think that whilst getting married your mind would only be on your bride, but it seems Jason is just a... well, you can fill in the blank for yourselves.



That night when Jenna went into labour, you would have thought that hubby would race to be by her side. Any guesses as to where Jason really was?



AHHH no, he's not with Dahlia- she knows better now.
Instead Jason spent his night in the Home Cinema room, dutifully ignoring his wife's screams...



Jenna's a tough cookie though and she powered through on her own. So, what's it to be- boy or girl?



Boy : )
His name is Dawson and he's Good and Easily Impressed (and how gutted am I that he's not a ghost?)



Now that she was married and a mother, Jenna wanted to move out and start an independent life of her own, so that's exactly what she did.



With Jenna gone the rest of the family went on as usual.
Camden went to see his son again and discovered that Marquis had grown into a toddler. He would have stayed there longer but January's mother shooed him away for peeking through the windows. Seriously.



Elsewhere, Dahlia wasn't about to let the weekend stop her from moving up in the Business career.
She invited her boss Gemma over to the house to ask for a promotion, which she received.



Sometimes at night Dahlia would think about her sister.
Anxiety is like an illness- invisible and yet all consuming. But there was to be no cure, Dahlia would just have to live with her guilt and worries.



The following morning Dahlia decided to try her best to put her past behind her and instead focus on completing her lifetime wish.



And just what is Dahlia's lifetime want I hear you ask? Well, I ain't saying she's a Gold Digger, but she ain't messing with no broke n- well you get the idea with that.



You see, Dahlia wanted to see the ghost of a wealthy spouse, so of course first we had to find her a rich man to marry.
I sent her round to visit some of the houses in the neighbourhood and, after a few misfires, we ended up at this place.



Meet Miles Wilson, a single old guy with tonnes of money, awoohoo!
