Chapter 30: Grim's Gonna Get Ya...
Where we last left off young Indiana here had just grown up into a child. Despite her standard EA moonpie face she was quite a cutie... except for the evil looks she kept giving me 0_0
With Eden raking in the bacon for the family the household funds had increased steadily, and I was able to give Indiana's bedroom a lovely makeover.
The elderly members of the family were still around and, now retired, they had a lot of freetime to pursue their hobbies. Noah and Adelaide continued to act like they were loved-up teenagers, bless em, and Eden's wife Melody enjoyed spending her days at the computer.
As a Virtuoso, and with no guitar for kids (grr) Indie instead succumbed to her artistic tendancies by working to improve her painting skill.
She also went to school as children do, though was less than impressed by it...
Why have all the kids in this family, except Adelaide and Eden, seemed so emo?
But the one thing able to lift Indie's spirits was spending time with her dad. Eden and Indiana had built up a great relationship; strengthened each day by their interactions and activities.
Indie was a bit of a sore loser though...
During the daytime, Eden would head out to his job in the military career. As a Genius he learnt the required skills quickly, and he was able to reach level 8 in the profession in a reasonably short amount of time.
He looks good in a uniform doesn't he? Teehee...
Ahem. Before long it was time for Eden to age up into an Adult. He was going to have a nice little party with a cake and everyfink but he beat me to the punch, hmph.
Standard sparklyness rah rah rah.
Oh, and look who turned up to witness his change- it's Riley and Dahlia.
I seem to have a little haunting problem atm- I've locked the door to the graveyard, I've even removed the darn thing, and yet the ghosts still keep finding ways into the house. It's driving me slightly insane, and the following events only added to the problem...
Poor Melody. Yes, Eden's wife soon reached the end of her lifespan, and time was up.
She did try to fight it, but sadly there was nothing she could do. It's a shame- she wasn't even in the family for that long : (
And poor Eden as well. As a Hopeless Romantic he had loved his wife dearly, in spite of her age, so her death hit him hard. It didn't help that he had the Over-Emotional trait too.
Even evil little Indie was upset by her mother's passing, and unfortunately Eden's attempts to console her didn't go so well...
Stupid glitches >: |
Ah, that's better. At least the rest of the family still have each other eh?
Ack, slight problem there. It seems Melody's death seems to have started a knock-on effect, with Noah here being so upset by it he popped his clogs too.
Grim sure is getting a lot of business today.
Hmph, that's not nice. It's always worse when the happy couples get split up : ( I loved Noah and Adelaide.
Immediately after Noah's passing Adelaide headed straight for the bar, and who can blame her?
But at least someone in the house was faring a little better- Indiana was busy making a new friend.
No Indie, we've done the Grim thing, leave him alone... put some clothes on.
I guess the benefit of the whole legacy keeping-everyone-in-the-same-house thing is that there's always a family member close at hand in times of need.
But what do you do when people just wont stop dying?! Adelaide's death happened just over one Sim day after Noah had passed. Like I said- the knock on effect of dooooooom.
Oh dear. Eden and Indie are really getting put through the wringer with this whole mass death thing.
So after the recent spate of unfortunate deaths, otherwise known as semi-doomsday, the family graveyard was expanded and the tombstones of Melody, Noah, and Adelaide were placed inside.
Eden and Indie, now alone (cry cry) continued to cope the best they could as they mourned their loved ones.
As always life goes on, and in time it was Indiana's birthday.
It's the ciiiiirrrccle of liiifffeeee! And it moooves us allllll.
Well, you get the idea with that.
Anyways... So I guess Indie had quite a generic look in her childhood years, so I'm curious to see if she beautifies now.
GAH!
Don't worry folks- it was just another one of those lovely glitches we enjoy so much. After a bit of, well, me panicking Indie turned out fine. Gorgeous in fact.
Finally as a teen Indie was able to work on improving her music skill.
She also continued to paint a lot, and really developed an individual style (which I loves).
Eden and Indie were as close as ever, and I discovered they both had the secret Can Salute trait. It's quite cute actually.
Speaking of cute, here's Indie bonding with a friend from her school.
Fun fact for you kids- this guy is actually the son of the man Adelaide kissed a couple of chapters ago : o Talk about keeping it in the family...
So anyways, Indie and this teen (who's name I've forgotten) had quite a nice romantic rendevous... until the boy glitched and got stuck in this position for a while.
Argh...
Eventually he snapped out of it though and Indie was able to enjoy her first kiss.
And the next day she enjoyed her second kiss ; )
What? She's a hot little package, can you blame anyone for wanting a piece of her?
Ahh, I loves her ^_^
Anywayyysss. Speaking of amour- do you remember in Eden's teen years he had a trio of girls after him? Well this is one of them. Kendra and Eden had remained friends as their lives progressed and, following the deaths of his family members, he had grown closer to her.
So it was no great love, and in truth Eden couldn't imagine feeling that way about anyone after Melody, but still- Kendra was good company.
Maybe he just needed a little close comfort.
But, as always, the real source of comfort in Eden's life was Indiana. He was so close to his daughter he couldn't imagine his life without her. Famous last words eh?...
When the weekend arrived Eden and Indie took to the pool for a little R&R after a hard week at work and school.
They had a great time playing around and having a who-can-hold-their-breath-the-longest competition, and then it all went horribly, horribly wrong.
Hey, did you know Sims can drown through holding their breath for too long? Yeah, me neither.
Crap.
Oh twisted Sims fate, why must you do this to me?! Indie was so perfect and she and Eden were so happy, now what?
Rest in peace Indiana Mars... I guess : (
Crap crap crap. Now Eden is alone. No wife, no children. No heir! How on earth will the legacy live on? Find out in the next chapter of the Mars Family Legacy, coming soon.
Gahhhhhhhhhhhh.
You can find the original on the story board here- feel free to rec that if you've enjoyed this : )
