Chapter 18: Love and Caring

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
So the Mars family had only recently been blessed with three wonderful children but, being the frisky little Sims that they are, Mayana and Christian decided they wanted more kids. Pregnancy ensued.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Three Sim days passed and then it was sparkle time again as Mayana went into labour. As usual, hubby Christian was by her side to help out... but that didn't quite go to plan...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Yes, he fainted. It could have been due to the ghosts of deceased relatives wandering about the place, but I have a sneaking suspicion it was something else that gave Christian a shock...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Twins!
The ghost baby is named Jenna and her traits are Good and Excitable.
The human baby is named Dahlia and she's Insane and a Genius.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Not long after the twins were born it was Xanthi's birthday. I came in a little late with camera again, oops.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
As usual the dutiful couple made sure that Xanthi had all the attention he needed.
Mayana taught him to talk...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
...And Christian taught him to walk.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Later that night it was celebration time once again. Christian's time as a Young Adult had come to a close and he was due to mature, a bit.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
He looks pretty pleased with himself *snigger*

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
The next day it was Mayana's birthday too.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Following her transition I decided to update her wardrobe a bit and give her a more grown up look : )

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Whilst all this birthday madness was going on Alyssa, the oldest child, made sure she kept herself entertained. She got to meet her cousin Persephone at school and, over time, the two girls became best friends.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Before long it was time for another birthday- Camden's.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Here the young lad is as a child after gaining the Bookworm trait. He looks really unimpressed doesn't he?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Another birthday! (I'm sorry there's so many this chapter).

Dahlia was first of the twins to age up.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And doesn't she just make the cutest toddler you've ever seen? That's one adorable set of pixels right there ; )

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Next up it was Jenna's turn.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And she turned out pretty cute too. However, you can't tell too much from this shot, so let's have a look at Jenna in CAS mode.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
She looks pretty similar to her sister actually, maybe with a slightly darker skintone.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Sooooooooo, once again the life lessons began.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Both Dahlia and Jenna learnt to walk and talk and all that jazz.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Meanwhile, it was time for another birthday (sorry).

Alyssa was due to age into a teen, bless her.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And here she is, my first ghostly teen. Alyssa gained the Loser trait, boo.
How about a looksie at her in CAS mode?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Wow. The genes in this family are gooooood.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Now that she was a teenager Alyssa was keen to help out with taking care of her younger siblings, which definitely made things easier on her parents (and on me).

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
All this love and care ensured that Xanthi's time as a toddler passed without incident, and he grew into a child happily.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Err...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Ah, there he is. Xanthi gained the trait of Perfectionist upon his transition.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Now that he was a child Xanthi was able to interact with his older siblings more readily, and he got on well with Alyssa in particular.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
With Alyssa able to babysit the twins, Christian found he had time to focus on his painting once again.
He had now mastered the Painting skill, and the money coming in from this hobby was considerable.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Mayana was able to go back to work at the Bistro, and in her free time she continued to fish. She was still on a quest to gather all the required ingredients to make Ambrosia and, as she actually had a Lifefruit that had been left by the previous generation, all she needed was a Deathfish. It wasn't proving so easy to catch though...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Back at the house there was time for another birthday... *yawn*

I mean, yay Camden is turning into a teenager.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Erm...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Ooh, as a teen Camden looks kind of moody, but in a sultry way. He's just got 'Heartbreaker' written alllllll over him.
And he has the Angler trait. Maybe he can help his mother out with her fishing...?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Just like his older sister, Camden was keen to help out with the care of his family.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
He wasn't always able to suppress his Evil tendancies though, and occasionally he did steal candy from Jenna and Dahlia, the swine. Still, isn't that just a winning smile?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Other Sims in the neighbourhood certainly seemed to think so, as Camden soon got talking to a girl in his school named January. Currently they're just friends, but here's hoping.
Oh, and she's not a teen mom by the way- that's her sister she's holding.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Soon enough it was time for YET ANOTHER BIRTHDAY. Or two.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
This time the entire family gathered for the celebrations, though the human members of the congregation seemed less than enthused...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
First Mayana bought Jenna to the cake to make her wish.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And she had a little sparkly dance, as you do.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Then the family all decided to have some cake, clearly forgetting about someone...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Poor Dahlia, ignored for a slice of cake, though if it was cheesecake then maybe I could understand.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And here are the twins as children.
What is it, some sort of family trait that makes all the humans in this generation look thoroughly peeved at all times? Excusing that though they both seem rather sweet.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Did I say that too soon? You see Dahlia just happened to gain the Mean Spirited trait when she grew up, so it didn't take long for her to turn on her sister. Of course, her current disposition meant Dahlia was able to bond quite well with a certain Evil sibling...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
It seemed no one in the house was safe when Dahlia and Camden were around.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
The two terrors spent a lot of time together scheming and plotting. Of course it wasn't all madness and malice, they also... erm, played tag and stuffs...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
They also liked to spend a lot of time together in the play... thing. I don't know what it's called.
Either way, it became their number one hangout and evil lair of sorts.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
In addition, as a Genius Dahlia spent a lot of time crouched over a chess table working on improving her keen mind.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
This came in very handy when she had homework, though you'd never be able to tell. Moody child...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
As the kids were now often busy with school and their friends, Mayana and Christian had time for themselves. They remained as silly and playful as ever : D

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
They also kept up their romantic shenanigans... No more kids though! I don't think I can take it : /

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Mayana had work most days and, over time, had reached level 7 in the culinary career. In addition, she was also required to learn a recipe for an opportunity she was given, and it just so happened to be Ambrosia. How convenient.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Now all that was left was that last missing ingredient- the elusive Deathfish. So, armed with a level 7 fishing skill and the appropriate bait, Mayana headed to the graveyard once again.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
: D : D : D
So now Mayana finally has all the ingredients she finds herself faced with a dilemma. She only has enough supplies to make one serving of Ambrosia, so just who should she bring back to life?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Will it be her husband Christian?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Her eldest daughter Alyssa?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Or her youngest daughter Jenna?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
So just who will be leaving their ghostly existence behind? Find out in the next chapter of The Mars Family Legacy, coming soon.

You can find the original on the story board here- feel free to rec that if you've enjoyed this : )

  1. Maybe Dahlia was so evil 'cos her family ignored her for some cake? She just wants to be noticed! Honestly, cake is such a attention hog no-one at your birthday party is interested in you once they bring the cake out!

  2. I kinda hate the thing were after someone ages up with the cake every guest lunges at it grabbing a peice. Kinda annoying when you have 2+ more people to age up. Takes forever.
